(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake firefighters were called to the scene of a tree fire this (Thursday) afternoon.
Fire Chief David Kollasch says firefighters were called shortly after 2:00 p.m. to 12th Street and Keokuk Avenue where lightning had hit a tree, starting it on fire. Kollasch says the blaze was contained to the tree itself.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
