(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Education Hall of Achievement holds its fourth annual induction ceremony at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday at the Sami Center.
Three individuals are being inducted this year, including outstanding educators Harry Illsley, Superintendent from 1916 to 1952; and Charles Rizutti, a middle school math teacher from 1970 to 2003. Being inducted this year in the Outstanding Graduate category is Major General David Scott, Retired U.S. Airforce, a member of the class of 1973 at Spirit Lake High School.
Special recognition will be given to staff members for 20, 25 and 30 years of service. Among those being recognized for 20 years include Jan Donaldson, high school english teacher; Pat Nellis of the middle school custodial staff; Donna Sebert, administrative staff; Ranae Sipma, Special Education instructor and Curriculum Director; and Deb Stammer, Food Service.
Being recognized for 25 years are Diane Franker, Enrichment instructor and coordinator; Jean Graff, a Middle School language arts teacher; and Mary Ann Hegeman, a Kindergarten teacher.
Those being recognized for 30 years of service include Tom Higgins, High School English and Theater instructor; and Rich Nicklay, Middle School Instrumental Music instructor.
Spirit Lake educators who have received state or national recognition during the last few years will also be recognized; and the 2010 National Honor students will be introduced.
