SL Couple Wanted For Theft Leads Police On Short Pursuit

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Spirit Lake couple in connection with a theft and chase Thursday.

Spirit Lake police say it started shortly after 3:30 p.m. when an officer tried to pull over a white 1999 Honda Accord. The occupants in the vehicle were wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary that took place earlier in the day at a Spirit Lake business.

Authorities say the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a short pursuit that ended at a residence in the Francis Sites area.

The driver, identified as 32-year-old David Lee Duhn of Spirit Lake, was charged with eluding…an aggravated misdemeanor; child endangerment…also an aggravated misdemeanor; interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor; and speeding.

A passenger, identified as 34-year-old Kimberly Ann Duhn, also of Spirit Lake, was charged with theft in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor; and interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor.

Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Arnolds Park Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
