(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council has decided to pony up some extra money for economic development programs, including one being developed by the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation.
The city council Tuesday voted unanimously to fund the “Target Iowa Lakes Corridor” campaign to the tune of 80-thousand dollars, with another 200-thousand dollars going into the city’s economic development fund over the next five years.
The latter fund is to be used solely for economic development projects in Spirit Lake.
City officials say the funds, to be paid in increments over five years, will come out of the Economic Development Fund.
