(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council took no action Tuesday evening to fill two vacancies on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
Members Jeff Smith and Steve Anderson are moving out of the city and have submitted their resignations from the commission.
One person has expressed interest in filling one of the seats, but one councilman feels the vacancies need to be more widely publicized. Jerry Harbst says he’s worried some quality candidates may get left out simply because they didn’t know the vacancies existed. Other council members agreed and decided to put off filling the vacancies to their October 9th meeting.
