(Spirit Lake)– A single-vehicle crash Monday evening south of Spirit Lake resulted in minor injuries to a Spencer man who was also arrested for drunk driving.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Matthew Mayer was southbound on 245th Avenue, or “Stakeout Road”, when he failed to negotiate a curve near Park’s Marina. Mayer lost control of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup which skidded sideways and went into the ditch, rolling onto its side.
Mayer sustained non-incapacitating injuries but refused treatment.
He was booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…first offense; failure to maintain control and open container.
The incident took place shortly before 9:00 p.m.
