(Peterson)—A Peterson teen was injured in a single-vehicle mishap shortly before 8:00 a.m. Monday on 125th Avenue about a half mile southeast of Peterson near Wanata Park.
The Iowa State Patrol says 16-year-old Justin Ellis was travelling south and east on the gravel road when he lost control and went into the south ditch. The vehicle struck an embankment and spun around, coming to rest in the ditch facing northwest.
Ellis sought his own treatment for what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.
1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1992 Chevrolet pickup he was driving.
Ellis was cited for failure to wear seatbelts and failure to have control.
