(Estherville)– An investigation into a traffic accident recently in rural Emmet county resulted in the arrest of a Milford man.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says the single vehicle crash took place back on September 8th. A deputy discovered an unoccupied 2002 Dodge pickup on its top in the west ditch of 390th Avenue. Some controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle along with items that identified the driver of the vehicle.
Arrest warrants were then issued for 34-year-old William Bingen of Milford charging him with possession of a controlled substance…second offense…methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle with a barred license; failure to maintain control; failure to provide proof of financial liability and operation of an unregistered vehicle.
Bingen was taken into custody September 14th in Dickinson county and was transferred to Emmet county authorities. He made an initial appearance in court and was released after posting a $2,000 surety bond.
