(Sheldon)– A Sibley man was arrested on drug charges in connection with an incident Sunday in Sheldon.
Authorities say 34-year-old Joseph Daggett was found in a vehicle by a deputy who was doing a welfare check. A sobriety check was done and a pat down of Daggett resulted in the deputy detecting a pipe in a hooded sweatshirt Daggett was wearing. A criminal complaint says the deputy became suspicious Daggett was under the influence of an illegal substance and became confrontational as he was being taken in custody. During the struggle, Daggett allegedly swallowed a substance that he pulled from his pocket. Daggett was tased and eventually put into handcuffs.
He was booked into jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine…3rd or subsequent offense, obstructing prosecution or defense, interference with official acts causing bodily injury and possession of drug paraphernalia.
