Sheldon To Unveil New Outdoor Aquatic Center

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– The city of Sheldon is about to take the wraps off its brand new three million dollar Outdoor Family Aquatic Center.

An open house will be held Thursday, August 7th from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. with a short ceremony and ribbon cutting at 10:00 a.m.

Community leaders say the center is the result of a Recreation Research Committee that was formed to determine recreational needs of the community.

They say it will compliment an indoor pool facility that was the result of a partnership by the city and Holiday Inn Express. That facility has also been completed with a ribbon cutting ceremony set for August 15th.

The city of Sheldon is also partnering with Northwest Iowa Community College to build a five million dollar Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center. It’s slated for completion by the fall of 2009.
