(Sioux City)– A Sheldon man has pleaded guilty to federal drug and weapons charges in U.S. District Court. 39-year-old Scott Demers was convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa says Demers admitted to receiving large quantities of methamphetamine through the mail and redistributing it. He also admitted to possessing a firearm.
Sentencing is pending completion of a pre-sentence report. Demers in the mean time remains in the custody of a U.S. Marshal.
