Separate Collisions With Deer Injure Motorcyclists

(Emmetsburg)– Two motorcyclists were injured when they collided with two separate deer late Wednesday night in mishaps on Highway four in Palo Alto county.

The sheriff’s office says Dana Brazel of Marathon was riding a 2007 Honda southbound and was being followed by Mitchell Dahlberg of Laurens on a 2004 Harley Davidson when they collided with separate deer.

Both men were taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Damage to the motorcycle Brazel was operating was estimated at six thousand dollars; the one operated by Dahlberg sustained an estimated five thousand dollars in damage.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the the Palo Alto county amublance crew and an off-duty deputy with the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.

The mishaps took place shortly after 11:00 p.m.
