(Cylinder)– A semi tractor-trailer rolled over onto a car Tuesday at the South Cylinder Curve in Cylinder, sending one person to the hospital.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says Leo Krambeer, Junior of Plymouth, Iowa was driving the semi tractor-trailer northbound around the curve when the load shifted, causing the trailer to tip over onto a southbound car. The semi trailer’s contents were spilled onto the roadway.
Krambeer was taken to the Palo Alto County Health Systems in Emmetsburg by ambulance. There was no immediate word on his condition or extent of injuries.
The driver of the car, David Pettit of Cylinder, wasn’t injured.
The International semi was totaled. The 2006 Chevrolet Pettit was driving sustained an estimated 4,400-dollars in damage.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Cylinder and Emmetsburg Fire Departments; Emmetsburg Ambulance; Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement; the Iowa State Patrol; Palo Alto County Road Department–Cylinder shed; Shine Brothers, Corporation; and Bud’s Service of Spencer.
The mishap took place around 2:00 p.m.
