(West Bend)– A second teenager has died following a car accident last weekend in West Bend.
17-year-old Melinda Bruellman of Ottosen died Thursday. She had been in a coma since the accident last weekend, which took the life of 18-year-old Christopher Gearhart of West Bend.
Gearhart was a passenger in a car driven by Bruellman. The Iowa State Patrol says they were struck by 17-year-old Wyatt Wirtz of Mallard, who ran a stop sign.
Gearhart was pronounced dead at the scene. Wirtz was treated and released.
Lynn Olesen of the Iowa State Patrol says alcohol was a factor in the crash.
