Rural Sioux Rapids Man Arrested For Alleged Identity Theft

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A rural Sioux Rapids man has been charged with identity theft, a class “D” felony, following an investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the charge against 31-year-old Jose Lagunes-Ruiz stems from a complaint of identity theft they received. They say their investigation allegedly found that Lagunes-Ruiz was using a different name at his workplace.

Lagunes-Ruiz was arrested Monday night at his residence and was booked into the Clay county jail.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
