(Terril)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a single vehicle mishap Saturday north of Terril that sent two people to the hospital.
Deputies say 24-year-old Amanda Anderson of Estherville was southbound on County Road N-14 when she swerved to miss a deer and lost control. The vehicle left the road and rolled into a power pole, splitting the pole.
Anderson and a passenger, 21-year-old Shawn Aielts of Spencer, were ejected from the vehicle. They were taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville with non-incapacitating injuries.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1996 Pontiac Anderson was driving; the power pole owned by Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative sustained about 10-thousand dollars in damage.
The mishap took place shortly before 2:30 a.m.
