(Spencer)– Another big announcement from the Clay County Fair.
Country star Rodney Atkins will perform Saturday, September 11th at 7:30 p.m. in front of the grandstand.
Known as country music’s quintessential down-home boy, Atkins grew up in Tennessee. He saw his first success on the country music scene with the album “Honesty”. The hit single from the album, “Honesty Write Me A List” reached number four on the Billboard charts.
He had a number of other hits in 2006 that topped the country charts. He launched the album “It’s America” in 2009. The debut single of the same name reached number one on the Billboard charts and marked Atkins’ fifth number one hit.
Newcomer Chris Young will appear with Atkins at the Clay County Fair.
Grandstand mail-in and online ticket sales begin June 21st; phone ticket orders will begin July 12th. The grandstand box office opens July 19th.
