(Okoboji)– Neighbors are vowing to take their battle to another level as the city of Okoboji has signed off on a building permit allowing for the Inn to move ahead with its construction project.
Neighbors opposed to the project say they’re going to appeal the permit to the city’s Board of Adjustment. They have 10 days from Tuesday (June 26th) to do that. The party that loses the appeal before that body may then appeal to district court.
City officials have contended that the Inn’s plans would not violate terms of a special use permit that’s in effect for the business. Neighbors opposed to the project differ, siting a legal opinion from an outside lawyer.
