(Cherokee)– A Cherokee man has been arrested on multiple charges following a pursuit Tuesday in Spencer. Police say an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding in the 600 block of Grand Avenue. Authorities say the driver, 19-year-old Brock Reinert of Cherokee, failed to pull over and led police on a pursuit that went west on West 8th Street at speeds of over 70 mph in a 25 mph zone. Officers say Reinert lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of West 8th Street and 4th Avenue West and collided with a tree, disabling the vehicle.
Reinert was taken into custody on charges of eluding, speeding, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to maintain control.
