(Spirit Lake)– Crews continue to make progress on installing sanitary sewer lines along the south side of Center Lake. That word from Steve Anderson, Superintendent of the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District…
“225th Place, the sewer system, the gravity sewer system is all installed there. And then on 231st Street, that sewer system is all installed, on 231st Avenue, the sewer system is all installed. And 165th Street they’re in the process of installing that sewer right now. A lot of the sewer on 165th is being installed by a boring process. That’s a lot deeper sewer in there and so they are coming from what many call Center Lake Drive, the sewer is installed from there about a mile past that intersection.”
Anderson says the project remains on schedule…
“The final project, they should be done early spring. They kind of got it planned out that they’ll be done by around May, in that timeframe, with getting roads finalized and everything but the sewer should be available way sooner than that, so.”
He says the contractor that’s doing the boring work is bringing in addition crews to help stay on schedule.
