Prairie Lakes AEA Board Announces Finalists For Chief Administrator Position

(Pocahontas)– The Prairie Lakes AEA Board of Directors has announced their two finalists for the position of Chief Administrator for the agency.

Jeff Herzberg and Dr. Laurence Lanich were chosen from a field of nearly 20 applicants to be interviewed next week by focus groups of Prairie Lakes AEA staff, board and local school administrators.

Herzberg is currently superintendent at Sibley-Ocheyedan Community Schools. He previously held positions as high school Principal at Iowa Falls-Alden High School, junior/senior high Principal at Anita Community Schools and associate high school Principal at Webster City Community Schools. He is in the process of completing his doctorate from Iowa State University.

Lanich is currently an education regional administrator at Grant Wood AEA. She previously was an evaluator approval trainer for the Department of Education, Superintendent at Iowa Valley Community School District, Principal at Prairie View Elementary in the College Community School District; elementary Principal for the Marion Independent School District, and special education consultant and behavior disabilities teacher at Grant Wood AEA.

The board will make a final selection following focus groups interviews June 30th and July 1st.
