(Des Moines)– The Iowa Power Fund has awarded a 14,750,000-dollar grant to Poet refinery’s “Project Liberty” at its Emmetsburg plant.
The project is for a commercial-size cellulosic ethanol biorefinery.
The funding will help with initial research, development, and demonstration costs for the one-of-its-kind biorefinery.
In addition to the 14.7 million, the state has awarded another 5.2 million in economic development funds. That brings the total funding commitment from the state to 20 million dollars.
