(Spirit Lake)—Plaintiffs in a case that seeks to have two members of the Spirit Lake school board removed from office posted a 90-thousand dollar bond today (Wed.) in Dickinson County District Court.
In a hearing March 17th, Judge Frank Nelson ordered the plaintiffs post the bond on or before today (Wed., March 26th) or the case against Beth Will and Ann Goerss would have been dismissed.
Iowa law requires private individuals filing actions in district court seeking to remove elected officials from office post a bond to cover court and legal costs.
A hearing to consider several motions in the case, including one for dismissal filed by Steve Avery, an attorney representing the defendants, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. April 7th in Dickinson County District Court.
