(Spirit Lake)– Petitions have been filed in Dickinson County District Court calling for the removal of two people from the Spirit Lake School Board.
They call for the removal of Board President Beth Will and Vice President Ann Goerss for what petitioners allege are continuous and habitual violations of Iowa law.
The Spirit Lake school board has a special meeting scheduled for 4:30 this (Tues.) afternoon to talk about what the agenda says is “imminent litigation”. The meeting will be conducted in closed session. Iowa law allows governmental bodies to meet behind closed doors whenever pending litigation is being discussed.
The petitions were filed Monday in Dickinson County District Court.
