Parent Company Of Heartland Press Sold

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Perry Judd’s Holdings, Incorporated, including its Heartland Press division in Spencer, is changing hands.

RR Donnelly and Sons Company has signed an agreement to acquire Perry Judd’s, a privately-owned printer of magazines and catalogs. The purchase price: 176 million dollars.

In addition to Spence, Perry Judd’s has printing plants in Baraboo, Wisconsin…where it’s headquartered…along with Madison, Wisconsin and Strasburg, Virginia.

The company employs more than 1,600 workers with about 200 of those working at the Spencer operation.

Company officials with either Perry Judd’s or RR Donelly and Sons aren’t commenting on what impact, if any, the transaction will have on the Spencer operations.

The transaction is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2007.
