(Emmetsburg)– A single-vehicle crash Monday in Palo Alto county sent two people to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office says it happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. in the 2900 block of 435th Avenue.
Authorities say Isabel Buerger of Emmetsburg was driving a 2000 Ford Focus northbound when she lost control. The vehicle fishtailed and went into the west ditch where it collided with a field drive. The vehicle flipped over, landing on its top.
Buerger was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by the Graettinger Fire Department. She was transported by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital and was airlifted to a Rochester, Minnesota hospital. There was no word on the extent of her injuries or condition.
A passenger in the vehicle, Bill Pelzer of Emmetsburg, was taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital where he was treated and released.
The vehicle was totaled.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Graettinger Fire Department and the Graettinger and Emmetsburg ambulance services.
Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
