(Emmetsburg)– A single-vehicle rollover this past Sunday in Palo Alto county injured two people.
The Sheriff’s Office says Jayson Blackmon of Mallard was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer in the 5500 block of 400th Street when the vehicle started to drift to the left and went into the ditch.
The vehicle continued through the ditch, striking an embankment and a steel culvert. It then vaulted over a farm drive, landing on its wheels against a tree.
Blackmon was taken by private vehicle to Palo Alto County Hospital. There was no word on the extent or nature of his injuries.
A passenger, Robert Kollasch of Emmetsburg, sustained minor injuries but didn’t seek immediate treatment.
The vehicle was totaled.
The crash, which remains under investigation took place around 2:45 a.m.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department.
