(Emmetsburg)– A two-vehicle crash in Palo Alto county has claimed the life of an Emmetsburg man.
The victim is identified as 22-year-old Robert Biddle of Emmetsburg.
The Iowa State Patrol says Biddle was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup that was involved in a collision with a 1996 Ford van driven by 78-year-old Mary Gappa of Ayrshire.
Gappa was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City. There was no word on the extent of her injuries or condition.
Authorities say Biddle was not wearing a seatbelt.
The mishap took place around 11:40 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of 560th Avenue and 340th Street in Palo Alto county.
The State Patrol says it remains under investigation.
They were assisted on the scene by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.
