(Adrian, Mn.)– Operators of a grain elevator in southwest Minnesota damaged by high winds two months ago are making do as the harvest kicks into high gear.
The August 3rd storm caused more than a million dollars in damage to the Adrian grain elevator and destroyed two grain bins.
Farmers started hauling soybeans to the elevator a little more than a week ago. Without storage available, elevator officials have had five semis hauling grain continuously to an elevator at the company’s main site in nearby Wilmont.
The Adrian elevator lost its top, or head house, during the storm, along with a 50-thousand-bushel bin and a 200-thousand-bushel bin.
Since then, workers have removed the top portion of the elevator and cleared away the two destroyed bins.
