Ongoing Clay Co. Meth Investigation Nets More Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– More arrests have been made as part of Clay county’s latest methamphetamine sweep.

On Friday deputies arrested 38-year-old Kimberly Hovland at her home at 810 4th Avenue SE in Spencer. She was wanted on an active arrest warrant for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a search of Hovland’s home back in September 2004. At the time, Hovland, her husband David and son Travis Booth were all arrested on multiple narcotics violations. Kimberly was placed in the Clay county jail on a 22-hundred dollar bond.

The meth sweep continued Friday night with the arrests of two Spencer residents on active warrants. 26-year-old Jolene Butenhoff and 42-year-old Douglas Eischeid were arrested around 11:40 p.m. at their home at 606 East Milwaukee Street. Eischeid was arrested on a warrant out of Guthrie county for manufacturing meth. Butenhoff was wanted in Clay county on charges of conspiracy to manufacture meth, possession of meth, for holding unlawful gatherings and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Butenhoff was placed in the Clay county jail on a 55-thousand dollar bond; Eischeid is being held on a 13-thousand dollar bond.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says more arrests are likely.
