(Humboldt)– The body of a Humboldt man was recovered over the weekend in the Des Moines River near Humboldt.
Michael Mulligan disappeared while fishing and authorities suspected he drowned. A search for Mulligan had been ongoing since he turned up missing back on May 6th.
The body, which had partially surfaced, was discovered by the Humboldt Fire Department around 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Divers with the Okoboji Underwater Search and Rescue team, who had been assisting in the search, retrieved the body.
Results of an autopsy into the cause of death are expected later this week.
