The Okoboji Summer Theatre has announced their upcoming season, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre announced the lineup for the 64th Anniversary Season on Saturday.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says the season will kick off June 28th. “We are going to start the seven show mainstage season with Ken Ludwig’s Comedy of Tenors. It’s a follow up to a show that we had done many years ago called Lend Me a Tenor. So, lots of fun, big laughs, and it also has music. It’s based on three opera singers.”
She adds that the season will wrap up with a production of Legally Blonde in August. “We close out with a bang, as always, opening August 9th, with Legally Blonde. We’re excited to bring in a guest Choreographer Director, Amy Fritsche, and we’re just excited. We’ve got a lot of guests coming in, and that will be, of course, our largest cast of the season.”
She notes that two shows will be presented at the Boji Bantam Children’s Theatre this summer. “We’re going to do The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and then, Tilly The Trickster. They are both adorable. The first one will run July 6-9, and the second one will run July 20-23.”
