(Milford)– On March 7, “Boji Voices” Jazz Choir from Okoboji High School found out they had qualified for the Iowa Vocal Jazz Championships. Jazz Choirs from all around the state submit videos, and OHS earned one of only eight spots. On Tuesday, March 29, the 16 member group traveled to West Des Moines to compete with top 8 Class 2A Jazz Choirs. The students earned a 5th place trophy for Class 2A.
The Boji Voices Jazz Choir is directed by Erin Chappas. The accompanist is Linda Ballah. Members are Gabe Batman, Dani Christoffels, Kai Cookinham, Lexi Duffy, Audrey Farrar, Gwen Gehrke, Izzy Gehrke, Ellsa Jorgensen, Ethnee Jorgensen, Carter Lambert, Maddison Lambert, Anna Petersen, Chloe Prentice, Morgan Riphagen, Noah Strantz, and Levi Winkowitsch.
