Okoboji Collision Sends Two People To LRH

(Okoboji)– A two-vehicle collision this (Wednesday) afternoon in Okoboji sent two people to the hospital.

The Okoboji Police Department says 16-year-old Elizabeth Strang of Milford was northbound on Lakeshore Drive just east of County Home Road when she crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by 82-year-old Rosemary Jackson of Okoboji.

Both Strang and Jackson were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.

A 1995 Dodge pickup driven by Strang and a 2001 Mercedes driven by Jackson sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Strang was cited for reckless driving.

The Okoboji Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.

The mishap took place around 1:20 p.m.
