(Hartley)– A single-vehicle rollover earlier this week in O’Brien county sent one person to the hospital.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 15-year-old Jacob Schilling of Hartley was westbound on 340th Street about three miles southeast of Hartley when a deer crossed the road in front of him. Schilling swerved to miss the animal, causing him to lose control. The vehicle went into the north ditch, traveled through a fence line, and rolled several times before coming to rest on it’s roof.
No injuries were reported to Schilling. A passenger, Johana Schilling of Hartley, was taken to the Sheldon hospital by private vehicle with non-incapacitating injuries.
A damage estimate to a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Jacob Schilling was driving wasn’t immediately available.
He was cited for failure to maintain control.
The crash took place shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
