Nov. 6th Municipal Elections To Feature Crowded Ballot In Some Dickinson Co. Towns

(Undated)—Ballots for the November 6th city elections will be crowded in some Dickinson county muncipalities.

Only four towns have no contested races for either Mayor or city council—they are Arnolds Park, Superior, Wahpeton and West Okoboji.

In Lake Park, Incumbent John Engel is being challenged for his mayoral seat by Dawn Kinkade. Three people are running for two open seats on the city council—they include incumbent Lori Eggers, Duane Guardian and John Woods. No one filed to fill a vacancy.

In Milford, long-time incumbent Mayor Virgil Wahlman faces opposition from William Huse; incumbents Don Gude and Rick Kilts are being challenged for their city council seats by Todd Schillinger.

In Okoboji, incumbent Mayor Mary VanderWoude faces opposition from Robert Sackett. There’s a five-way race for two open seats on the Okoboji city council: Incumbent Jim Delperdang faces competition from Allan Dudley, Joe Gamble, Hank Grant and Robert Yeske.

In Orleans, no one filed for Mayor. Three people are running for two open seats—they include incumbent Jim Jackson along with Bill Maas and Ray Miller. Two people filed to fill a vacancy on the Orleans city council—they include Pam DeYoung and Keith Ostrum.

In Spirit Lake, Blain Andera and Susan Clark are running for Mayor. Three people are running for three open seats on the city council, including incumbents Kevin Bice, Jerry Harbst and Jeff Thee.

In Terril, Elwin Clark and Lisa Nichols are squaring off for Mayor. Five people are running for three open seats on the Terril city council. They include Mark Lair the second; Shannon Norton, Ronald Soat, Julie Thiesen and Darrell Woods, Junior. Jeri Nissen is uncontested to fill a vacancy.
