No Injuries Reported In Milford House Fire

April 06, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– No injuries were reported this (Wed.) morning in a house fire in Milford. Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter tells KUOO news they were called around 9:00 am to 608 “L” Avenue…

“We encountered flames coming out of the kitchen window. The doors were all locked so we had to force entry. We had a heat signature on the basement window underneath the kitchen and went in and attacked the fire. What’s the extent of the damage then? A lot of damage in the kitchen and stuff, of course total smoke damage throughout the house. We’re still in the process of overhauling right now. There is some floor that’s been burnt out in the kitchen area. We’re figuring it possibly came out of the basement but we’re not positive at this point.

Carpenter says the cause of the fire isn’t certain. He says no one was home at the time.

The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department, Milford Police Department and Milford Utilities assisted on the scene.
