(Spencer)– The city of Spencer has a new Police Chief.
The city council Monday approved a wage and benefit package for Mark Lawson, who has been appointed to the position.
Lawson has served 30 years with the Spencer Police Department.
He succeeds Michael Lashbrook who resigned in January to become Police Chief in Mason City.
