(Lake Park)– A Hartley man was injured Monday evening when a motorcycle he was riding collided with a deer.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Michael Wood of Hartley was driving a 1982 Honda Goldwing northbound on County Road M-27 about five miles south of Lake Park when he struck the deer and fell off the bike.
Wood was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake with what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.
The motorcycle was totaled.
Wood was cited for no insurance.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lake Park Police Department, Lake Park Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
The mishap took place around 8:30 p.m.
