(Sutherland)– A Storm Lake man was injured earlier this week in a motorcycle accident in O’Brien county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 54-year-old Bruce Engelmann lost control of a 1997 Suzuki motorcycle as he was eastbound on Highway 10 near Sutherland. Authorities say Engelmann was rounding a curve when he got too close to the edge of the road and lost control. The motorcycle went into the south ditch and rolled before coming to rest.
Engelmann was transported to the Primghar hospital by the Sutherland ambulance where he was treated for what’s described as non-incapacitating injuries.
Engelmann was charged with failure to maintain control.
The motorcycle sustained an estimated 2,500-dollars in damage.
The mishap took place around 3:00 p.m. Monday.
