(Spencer)– A weekend motorcycle accident in Clay county claimed the life of a Peterson man.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the Communications Center received a call shortly before 8:00 a.m. Saturday from a passerby reporting he came across an accident on Highway 10 a couple miles west of Highway 71. The caller said there was a motorcycle in the ditch and that the driver was hurt.
Authorities say the driver, 53-year-old Paul Anderson of Peterson, was fatally injured.
A 2004 Honda Anderson was driving sustained an estimated two thousand dollars in damage.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and the Peterson and Royal Fire and Rescue Units.
Authorities say the mishap remains under investigation.
