November 22, 2014

(Sioux City)– A Montgomery man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison on meth and weapons charges.

34-year-old Russell Hodge of Montgomery was recently sentenced in U-S District Court in Sioux City after pleading guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute pure methamphetamine; to distributing pseudoephedrine; and knowingly possessing a firearm while being a drug user.

At a plea hearing, Hodge admitted that between about 2001 through August 13, 2003 he and others agreed to manufacture, distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine; to distribute pseudoephedrine knowing and having reasonable cause to believe the substance would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Court documents state Hodge participated in the manufacturing of atleast 15-thousand grams of methamphetamine and the distribution of atleast three kilograms of pseudoephedrine. The documents also state Hodge received pure methamphetamine in return for providing pseudoephedrine to his co-conspirator.

The documents also state that Hodge allowed the co-conspirator to use his Montgomery residence to cook methamphetamine, where Hodge also possessed a revolver.
