Milford Firefighters Called To Report Of Possible Gas Leak

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Milford firefighters got an early wake-up call this (Wed.) morning.

They were called around 12:45 a.m. to a report of a possible gas leak at the Okoboji Avenue Inn.

Fire Chief Jim Carpenter says upon arriving they determined the natural gas smell was the result of a pilot light that had gone out on a stove in the manager’s apartment.

Carpenter says firefighters ventilated the building and the air was tested by the Milford Fire Department and Aquila.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.

They were assisted by the Milford, Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police Departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
