Milford Crash Injures Wallingford Man

(Milford)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday at the intersection of 13th Street and Highway 71 in Milford sent one person to the hospital.

Police say 46-year-old Jina Busch of Jefferson, Iowa was southbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to turn left onto 13th Street when she turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Richard Joachims of Wallingford who was northbound on Highway 71.

Joachims was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with unknown injuries. Busch refused treatment on the scene.

Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Busch; a 1995 GMC Sonoma pickup driven by Joachims sustained an estimated two thousand dollars in damage.

The Milford Police Department was assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.

The mishap took place around 2:45 p.m.

It remains under investigation.
