(Milford)– The Milford city council Monday unanimously adopted a policy and procedure manual for the city’s Police Department; approved a revised job description for the Assistant Police Chief position; and approved a 28E agreement with the city of Arnolds Park to share a part-time police officer.
On a three-to-one vote, the council approved a wage and salary package for the 2008 fiscal year for city employees. Councilman Don Gude cast the dissenting vote.
The council approved a portion of a contract with the union that represents the city’s police officers. The three-year contract calls for a four percent wage increase the first year with three and-a-half percent increases the second and third years. Council members expressed concern over provisions dealing with discipline and discharge, and sent that part of the package back for further negotiation.
