Milford Collision Results In Minor Injuries

(Milford)– A two-vehicle collision Wednesday at the intersection of Fourth Street and Highway 71 in Milford sent one person to the hospital.

Milford police say 33-year-old Melissa Helmers of Milford was southbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to turn left onto Fourth Street when she was rear-ended by another southbound vehicle driven by 39-year-old Jody Bunde of Spencer.

Helmers was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where she was treated for a bump on her forehead and for neck pain.

No injuries were reported to Bunde.

700-dollars in damage was estimated to a 2008 Ford Escape driven by Helmers; one thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Bunde.

Police say no charges have been filed yet. They say the collision remains under investigation.

It took place around 4:30 p.m.

Milford police were assisted by some neighbors; Milford Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
