(Milford)– The Milford City Council Monday evening approved plans and specifications for the replacement of a lift station on 13th Street but wound up tabling bids on the project after they came in nearly double over engineer’s estimates. The increasing cost of supplies and construction were cited as the main factors. Council members indicated they want to assess their options before taking any further action.
The city has been planning to get the lift station project done in advance of what will be a major reconstruction of the road. There was some discussion about the possibility of doing the lift station project as part of that, but an engineer told the council there’s a possibility the cost could go up even more by then.
