Milford Boy Scouts To Hold Annual “Scouting For Food” Event This Saturday (April 9th)

(Milford)– Milford Boy Scouts will be doing their part to help the less fortunate this weekend. Troop leader Jason Simpson says they’ll be holding their “Scouting For Food” event Saturday (April 9th) in Milford…

“This Saturday we’ve asked the public to have their food donations set out on their front door step in a clearly marked bag by 9:00 am, and then our Boy Scouts and some leaders and parents will be coming around town and we’ll pick up those food donations. We’ll take those back to our scout building to reorganize and count them so that we can deliver them to the food pantry.”

Simpson says the donated goods will go to Upper Des Moines Opportunity…

“What the food pantry is asking for is non-perishable items and even paper products, too, like toilet paper, paper towels, and anything that is in a can or anything that is in a box.”

Simpson says the Milford Boy Scouts have participated in Scouting For Food many years now.
