(Emmetsburg)– A joint investigation involving the Palo Alto, Clay and Dickinson County Sheriff’s Offices and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement resulted in the discovery of a meth lab and the arrest of a Mallard man.
Authorities say the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday received information about people purchasing pseudoephedrine in Spencer. Authorities stopped a vehicle wanted in connection with the incident. Following that, a search warrant was obtained for a residence at 4611 480th Street in Palo Alto county.
The Multi Agency Response Team and deputies from the Clay and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices responded to the scene, along with agents from the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
The search turned up what’s alleged to be a quantity of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and ammunition. The items were sent to the DCI crime lab for testing.
21-year-old Brandon Taylor of Mallard was arrested at the scene. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Taylor was cited and released.
Authorities say the investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
