(Spirit Lake)– A Mason City man accused of beating his children faces assault and child endangerment charges following an alleged incident over the weekend in Dickinson county.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy responded Saturday to a 911 call of a man beating his children at 11173 Harlan Avenue of rural Spirit Lake.
41-year-old Jeffrey Pietig of Mason City was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault…a serious misdemeanor; and four counts of child endangerment…class “D” felonies.
Pietig was booked into the Dickinson county jail on 24-thousand dollars bond.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Department of Human Services.
